Week 7 Homework

Fusion 360 3D Shapes - Initials

Using different initials from my own due to similarity.
Final Result

Created odd dome shape inside.

Initial sketches.

Prototype 1 Cardboard model

While the cardboard prototype isn't the most presentable I attempted to capture interior details with furniture and scaling. This was set back by the lack of detachable objects so the photos may have come out looking a bit off.

This model incorporates light shafts to bring more bounce light into the room.
Here is an image with a figure for scale.

Next I ran light simulations with the house model in preparation of addressing the lighting issues within the current design. This only renders the sunlight and light bounce of the room.

This first image represents the direction of the light/sun coming in from the east.

With the current setup of the room this allows direct light to enter the room without making contact with the person's eyes in bed whilst allowing more natural light to enter. This is may also provide more heat during winter when the morning is cooler. If the person chooses to use the desk at this time in the morning, blinds will be provided to block out the direct light entering the room.

In this second image we see the afternoon direct light striking from the other window which may be unfavorable while using the desk and especially during summer. Since the house is being hit directly by the sun in the afternoon, this drastically increases the temperature creating a more discomforting environment. The next model iteration will address these issues and may also improve on existing design choices.
